Welcome to my life and times in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin.
11 years ago employment opportunities brought my husband and I to this area, and we have been enjoying every minute of it. While most of the area is known for the wonderful fishing and hunting opportunities, we choose to stick to our little homestead located within the boundaries of the Lac Courte Oreilles Indian Reservation.
While the area gives us the opportunity to enjoy the 4 traditional seasons of Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, we also get to partake in the 4 seasons of the Ojibwa: Sugarbush, Ricing, Spearing and Pow Wow. (Although we haven’t had the opportunity to try spearing, people do gift us with some of the fish.)
We have 2 grown daughters and 6 grandchildren that we don’t get to see enough of. And when we do get together, it is organized chaos at its best, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.~sandyrooney~sandyrooney~sandyrooney~sandyrooneyp>
We also share our lives with 2 cats:~sandyrooney~sandyrooney~sandyrooney~sandyrooneyp>
Calie, an elderly Calico who rules the roost;
And Thor, an energetic Tabby that has personality plus.~sandyrooney~sandyrooney~sandyrooney~sandyrooneyp>
Oh, and the squirrels.~sandyrooney~sandyrooney~sandyrooney~sandyrooneyp>
Don’t get me started on the squirrels.~sandyrooney~sandyrooney~sandyrooney~sandyrooneyp>
Thank you for stopping by and welcome to my world!
