And as the motto goes, “Always be prepared.”

So that’s what I’ve been trying to do before Monday, when I head to the dentist and relinquish my top dentures for 3 days for their final fitting.

When oldest daughter paid a visit last weekend, she brought all the fixins for Potato Cheese Soup.

Can you tell she’s used this recipe a few times?

It’s rich and delicious, and I’ve been hording the quart in my fridge knowing that it’s going to be just the ticket to sustain me for those 3 days.  Well, along with other non-chewable foods like ice cream, pudding and vanilla wafers (you’d be amazed at how well they dissolve in your mouth!).

Along with the food planning, I’ve also scheduled to take those 3 days off of work, because I don’t think people really want to see me without my teeth (it’s not a pretty sight, plus I talk funny).

I’m also going to take the time to watch the 3rd installment of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.  Please try to contain your shock as I do realize that I am the only person left on the planet who has not seen it.

I’m also, ALSO going to be making more jewelry.  My next shipment of gemstones will be delivered next week, and I can’t wait to play with all the pretty rocks and shiny silver I’ve got coming.

I’m also, ALSO, ALSO going to get the house cleaned and ready for our Thanksgiving get-together next Saturday.

Maybe I’ll find time to rest and relax too.  I’ll see if I can fit that into my schedule.

  1. Nummy! I have been thinking of making a big pot of soup and freezing some of it for a while…

  2. Ah, Sandy, you are not the last person on earth who hasn’t seen the movie. Tell me how it comes out. I think I saw the other ones but it didn’t really carry much interest for me so I don’t remember them.

And the soup does sound good. Can’t wait til it gets could enough down here for it. Finally, finally we got to the mid to upper 70’s. We are almost in our 2nd season. We have only 2 in Phoenix. Summer and summers coming. LOL.

  3. I remember how much fun we had in the winter when we were kids! I’ll enjoy the 4 seasons of Wisconsin for ya 😉

  4. Next year I’m gonna can stew since I always seem to make too much for just Rick & I. Or maybe I’ll do it this winter!
