What a busy weekend!

Lots of stuff done and miles put on the vehicle.

We had to make a flying trip down to the old homestead on Sunday to empty some more junk out of the garage.ย  We got to meet Phil, the wonderful guy who is doing some remodeling to the place for the new tenants (hopefully-soon-to-be-owners).

To say the least I was a little shocked at the progress (all good – more on that at another time/day), but he has the same visions for the place that we did when we lived there so I’m hoping for the best.

From there we traveled down to Nichole & Corey’s to celebrate Walker’s birthday.

Presents & ice cream cake… win-win in my book!

In what seems to be tradition, on our way back home we stopped at the casino in Turtle. Lake.ย  They were having their 20th anniversary celebration (and the machines were giving me a little present) and were doing some promos and giveaways.

I turned away from my machine to see this:

I was asked if I wanted to give the *turtle* a hug, so being that I have no shame, I said “sure!”ย  As my reward I got a free T-shirt.

So to recap the day:

– We put lots of miles on the car

– Brought back stuff that has to go to the recycling center

– Hugs, kisses and birthday cake

– Left a casino with money (and a free T-shirt)

Oh, and we passed 4 squad cars on our way home and never got stopped*.

Yep, it was a good day.

* Now if Rick had been driving, there may have been more of a story here.

  9. It was really great to be there for his special day!

  10. The turtle reminds me of a time when my son made me follow someone in a tiger suit all day at a fair once. He didn’t want to go near the tiger, just follow it lol. I swore by the end of the day who ever was in that tiger costume must of thought I was stalking them lol.
Sounds like you guys had a great day though ๐Ÿ™‚
