What a Hoot!

Feb 022011

Well, guess what greeted Rick outside the kitchen window this morning when he got his cup of coffee?

This owl was on the wood stack in the backyard with its own breakfast! (And yes, that is a squirrel that the owl has caught.)

Pretty rare for this kind of visit, and Rick said that he stayed there for a long time, until he went outside to collect wood, then the owl flew off.

Some people put superstition or reasoning for seeing owls in the daytime, but not me.  There is always a reason for what happens, and I for one will see it for what it is:  a morning visitor.

(And by the way… the pun was intended)  🙂
