I’ll Just Have to Grin and Bear It.

Nov 162011

Well, we’ve been spoiled too long, and after last night, it all ended.

While I knew it was inevitable, I still liked my state of denial when it came to the cold and snow that we would soon be experiencing.

It is November after all.  And the first half of the month with temps in the 40’s, 50’s and even a few 60’s have been bliss!

But no more.

Today ushers in temps in the 30’s for highs, and it looks like it will only go downhill from there for a while.

And “a while” up here in the northwoods is anywhere up to 5 months.

Maybe I’ll be like the bears and hibernate until April.  I could just climb into my nice warm bed with the electric blanket cranked all the way up and heavy comforters layered on top of that.  Mmmmm…. that sounds nice.

Unfortunately, I’d still have to get up to eat, feed the cats, use the “facilities,” stoke the woodburner, wash clothes, clean the house, cook, take out the garbage, blah, blah, blah.

Sometimes I envy the bears.  They get to sleep through all that.

And they don’t have to do laundry.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
