And so it is that time of the year again.

When the halls of the college go quite after 9 months of students filling their brains with all the information they will need to earn that oh-so-coveted degree.

Our college used to close for 4 weeks in the summer.   This gave the maintenance department time to do all the spit-shining stuff that can only be done when there is no one around to muck it up.

That all ended 2 year ago.

Now, full-time faculty and staff are there for the summer.

And it is BORING!!!

Sure, we have stuff we need to get done, because, hey, the world doesn’t stop just because classes end.

Take my job for example.  I pay all the bills for the college, and with the new vacancy in our office, I will also take on the job of processing payroll.

I don’t think our vendors and employees would appreciate not getting paid.

I know I wouldn’t.

But we did have a little excitement today.  The new vending machines arrived!!

There were “oohs” and “aahs” and chatter about new products that filled the machines.

Yep, doesn’t take much to make us happy.

I have a feeling it’s going to be a long summer.

  1. Try not to bore yourself to tears with all that “nothing to do” stuff. LOL I know how you feel about the new vending machines, being easily amused myself 🙂

  2. We are not above creating things to entertain ourselves at the college!
